Сенкс, конечно, за ссылки, только зачем мне VIA'шные драйвера для AC'97-звука, они у меня и так есть. И папка DOS там тоже есть. Вот только не работают они нифига. Вот состав DOS-дров:
DOS
INSTALL.EXE VIA Sound Blaster Pro Compatible setup program
VIAUDIO.COM VIA Sound Blaster Pro Compatible TSR program
DOS4GW.EXE Enter Protect mode Watcom DOS4GW program
плюс ещё я скачал вот этот файлик Viafmtsr.com (VIA software synthesizer TSR - для MIDI), который не входит в обычный дистрибутив.
Вот что инструкции от самого производителя:
5) DOS Sound
(a) General Information:
DOS sound can be divided into two classes:
1) Waveform sound,such as a Gun shot, knock sound etc. The "Sound Blaster Pro Compatible sound device" hardware is build-in on VIA
VT82C686A/686B/VT8231 south bridge to support DOS Waveform sound and
2) Music sound, which is in MIDI format such as background music. VIA supports a software synthesizer to play MIDI format.
(b) In pure DOS environment or "Restart to MS-DOS mode" from Win 9X:
How to play a DOS game with both Waveform and MIDI sound.
* For Waveform sound: first enable the Sound Blaster setting in the
BIOS CMOS setup firstly. Please follow these instructions to enable
the setting in the BIOS :
INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS -> Onboard Legacy Audio (Enabled)
-> Sound Blaster (Disable -> Enabled)
* For MIDI music sound: Because the chipset doesn't support MIDI hardware
synthesizer the user needs to install VIA software synthesizer TSR utility.
This utility can translate MIDI format to Waveform format.
To install this utility, please follow this procedure:
i) Run "install.exe" in "\DOS" directory.
ii) The program will copy the relative files into the directory
which you assigned, the default is "C:\VIAUDIO\VIAUDIO.COM".
Then the program will insert the new line
"C:\VIAUDIO\VIAUDIO.COM" into the AUTOEXEC.BAT and copy the
original AUTOEXEC.BAT to AUTOEXEC.VIA.
iii) Reboot the system when the installation is completed.
iv) You can uninstall this TSR utility by deleting the new line from the
AUTOEXEC.BAT and deleting the file C:\VIAUDIO\VIAUDIO.COM
(c) In Windows MS-DOS prompt environment:
* If you install the VxD audio driver: first enable the Sound Blaster setting in the
BIOS CMOS setup firstly. Please follow these instructions to enable
the setting in the BIOS :
INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS -> Onboard Legacy Audio (Enabled)
-> Sound Blaster (Disable -> Enabled)
VxD audio driver will trap the I/O port of the SB Pro compitable device
to simulate game program I/O access. VIA also supports FM synthesizer
driver to play DOS game's MIDI music data.
* If you install the WDM audio driver:
i) For Waveform sound: In WDM architecture, Microsoft provides
a SB Pro enumeration driver, named sbenum.sys, to simulate
SBPro behavior for DOS games to play Waveform sound.
ii) For MIDI music sound: In WDM architecture, Microsoft provides
a WDM kernal driver named swmidi.sys to play MIDI format music.
Users should have the setting in DOS games. Wave player is SBPro
and Music player is General MIDI.
Как я понял, выходит, что под досом и не нада драйвера для Waveform sound, достаточно его разрешить в биосе, а дрова - это для MIDI support. Только здесь чёт не клеится, т.к. VIA software synthesizer TSR utility - это файлик Viafmtsr.com (во всяком случае, он так пишет), а VIAUDIO.COM - действительно тот самый драйвер для Waveform sound.
Потом, на кой чёрт вот это :

??? Причём тут AUTOEXEC.BAT к досу??? Под виндой - да, оно делает своё дело, и звук в сеансе доса (WinMe) есть.Но даже запуск батника VIA'шного в досе:

SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 P330
где важна строка SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 P330 - для установки среды, абсолютно ничего не меняет...
Вот ещё из хелпа Mpxplay:
Use an environment variable to configure the PORT,IRQ and DMA values.
(of course you must change the port, irq & dma numbers to your configuration)
1. SB16: SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 (Aport Iirq Ddma Hhdma)
2. ESS : SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5
3. WSS : SET ULTRA16=530,7,1,0,0 (the same settings, what you set in MIDAS configuration)
14.SBpro: SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4 (Aport Iirq Ddma Ttype)
(the ESS and WSS cards don't use IRQ, correct setting of IRQ not really needed)
Загадкой остаётся последний параметр- H5, T4 или P330. Я пробывал их все - безрезультатно...
В общем, вопрос остаётся открытым. Ждёмс идей... |
