FAQs - Questions and Answers SupportPlus MP3 Player The CD given with my MP3 says that it is only valid for Windows 98…but I dont have Windows 98. What do I do? The CD is only needed for Windows 98. All other versions (including XP, ME, etc) do not require any software and should work automatically. Just drag and drop as you would with any file. When I switch my MP3 on the menus come up in Chinese! How do I get this back into English? First try taking the battery out and then putting it back in again. Often this just re-sets it back into English. If this does not work, try the following steps:- * Switch the MP3 on. * (Note: The Navigation button - the button on the top left hand side – can be pushed to the left, can be pushed to the right, and it can be clicked inwards.) * Click the navigation button inwards one time. This takes you out of music playing and into the menus. * Push the navigation button to the left 3 times. This takes you to the settings part of the menu. * Click the navigation button inwards one time. This selects settings. * Push the navigation button to the left two times. This takes you to languages. * Click the navigation button inwards one time. This selects languages. * Now that you are in languages, push the navigation button to the left (just push once – do not hold the button to the left). If “English” does not appear, push again until you see “English” appear. * Click the navigation button inwards one time. This selects English. Your MP3 should now be fine. I tried to go into the menu and it doesnt function correctly, or I get Chinese characters, and when I press the mode button it turns down the volume to minimum and nothing else. Please go to one of these two links and download a firmware developed by us; this should cure the problem. There are two different types of Supportplus MP3 player, and depending on which one you have – chose the following link: 1) If the SupportPlus brand name is displayed on the back of the player on the battery compartment cover, then please use this link: http://www.supportplus.fr/manuelsutilisateur/v2512_342_128BB.zip 1) If the SupportPlus brand name is written just above the main display screen, then please use this link: http://www.supportplus.fr/manuelsutilisateur/v2512_342_mp_4011_422.zip My computer doesnt detect the MP3 when I plug it in. What do I do? When you have plugged in the MP3 player, your computer should automatically detect it. However in some cases it may have a non-obvious name such as: “Drive E” / “External Memory Device” / “Flash Memory Device" / "External Storage Device" or something similar. It should be there, so have a look for it using your Windows Explorer. My Computer still cant find it? If it is still not working on your computer, you need to make sure that you have ALL of the latest updates from Microsoft for your version of Windows (usually obtainable from the Microsoft website). When your Windows version is up to date, then it should work fine. This is a common problem for Windows 2000 / ME users. Everything seems to be set up fine, now what do I do? Firstly, save your music files onto your computer. Then, using Windows Explorer, move/copy the music files across to your MP3 device in the same way that you move any file type from one folder to another in Windows (by dragging and dropping in Explorer). The MP3 seems to be ready (“USB RDY”), but it wont play? USB RDY means USB Ready, so at this time you can drag and drop your music files onto the MP3…but while it is in this state, you cannot actually play it, it is waiting to receive files. Unplug the MP3 from the computer, and you can now play it. I have loaded songs onto the MP3 player, but they wont play. Why ? Your MP3 cant understand the file types that you are putting on it – they are not compatible with the MP3 player. Music files can take many different forms, and these forms can be seen by the ending type of the file name. Please look at the endings of the names of your music files. You can see what the files are called using Explorer (in the usual way)…then please check on Explorer that the files have “.MP3” as an ending, or “audio Mp3 file” as a description. Try with other music files, because you might be using some files with wrong encoding (e.g. ending in “.WAV”) - these ones will not work. In short make sure that the files end in “.MP3” then everything will work fine. It seems to be working fine but I cant hear any music. What now? Make sure volume is high enough. Make sure that the headphones are properly connected to the MP3 player. |
