As announced a few months ago, NVIDIA is finally saying farewell to its
2012-era GPUs: the entire GeForce 600 series stack and most of the GeForce 700
cards will no longer be supported. Today the company released the first driver
from its 495 branch, which lacks support for Kepler-based graphics cards.
The cards that will no longer work with the new driver releases include:
TITAN: GeForce GTX TITAN, GeForce GTX TITAN Black, GeForce GTX TITAN Z
GeForce 700: GeForce GTX 780 Ti, GeForce GTX 780, GeForce GTX 770,
GeForce GTX 760, GeForce GTX 760 Ti (OEM), GeForce GT 740, GeForce GT 730,
GeForce GT 720, GeForce GT 710
GeForce 600: GeForce GTX 690, GeForce GTX 680, GeForce GTX 670,
GeForce GTX 660 Ti, GeForce GTX 660, GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST,
GeForce GTX 650 Ti, GeForce GTX 650, GeForce GTX 645,
GeForce GT 640, GeForce GT 635, GeForce GT 630
Graphics cards from GeForce 700 series that will continue to be supported
because they are based on Maxwell architecture:
GeForce GTX 750 Ti, GeForce GTX 750, GeForce GTX 745.
It is worth noting that NVIDIA does not fully discontinue support for
Kepler architecture, but features such as bug fixes, performance enhancements,
new features, and day-0 game support will be exclusive to Maxwell, Pascal,
Turing, and Ampere GPUs. Kepler architecture will only receive security
updates starting from now. |
