We just released a new verion of DriveCrypt. This new version 4.0 is completely revised; it has a new user interface as well as several powerful new functionalities such as the creation of INVISIBLE DISKS, the possibility to change the partitions ID for encrypted partitions etc. LIST OF THE MAIN NEW FEATURES: 1) More modern and intuitive user interface (GUI) 2) Added the possibility to create invisible DriveCrypt drives inside another DriveCrypt drive. 3) Added possibility to change the encrypted Partition ID 4) Encryption algorithm speed improved and optimised 5) The "system service module" and "container delete protection" were optimised 6) Added a new option allowing to choose if at brutal dismount quits the program or not 7) Added more detailed disk information on the main screen 8) Added an integrated help file to the program GUI 9) Mounted disks are only visible to the actually logged-in user ABOUT INVISIBLE DISKS: Since several users reported that they would like protection against being forced by an aggressor to reveal their password, DriveCrypt has now the ability to create an INVISIBLE disk INSIDE a container or partition. This way it is possible to define two passwords for a container. Since several users reported that they would like protection against being forced by an aggressor to reveal their password, DriveCrypt has now the ability to create an INVISIBLE disk INSIDE a container or partition. This way it is possible to define two asswords for a container. The invisible disks password gives access to the working disk, which is hidden in the unused area of the "outer" container, while another password gives access to a "prepared" DriveCrypt volume ("outer" disk) in which you only stores data that you would want to convince others, was the only data in the container or partition. By revealing the password of the first or "outer" disk, the aggressor will ONLY see the "prepared data": IE data you put in there, before creating the hidden disk, while he will not be able to see or get evidence that there is another invisible container that securely stores confidential data on the disk. |
