Это тебе надо в Ресурс Кит, там описалова много (по темам, к примеру, Stop Messages for Disks and File Systems) и не на одной странице. Идешь сюда http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/default.mspx забиваешь в поиск "Stop messages" или поищи саму книжку "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Resource Kit, Second Edition" (40Мб), но KB обновляется чаще, к примеру, в книжке нет описалова твоей ошибки.

В итоге попадаешь сюда http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx но на сколько там описалово ошибок актуально не ведаю, сам не качал, а по дате аж Май 27, 2004 (10.6 MB), если учесть, что SP2 вышел позже, то КВ однозначно рулит, потому я те и ссылу выше на КВ давал.

для установки XP SP2 Prof RUS VLK (т.е. без фичи активации) раздают в "Варезнике": 
глюков в нем действительно выше крыши - сам убедился. Меньше чем в бетах, но "ихЪ есть у меня"
