этот скрипт кладёте в /usr/share/gimp/2.0/scripts (или где там у вас скрипты гимповые валяються)
правый клик по желаемой картинке-->File-->Grub boot image

посмотри когда он пишет что ему не найти файла, на какой путь он показывает. и какой путь у тя к этому файлу. |
