First we only scan the images and create the PDF directly, that was a sh*t work. Then we start to using images processing soiftware, PaintShop, ACDSee etc until we found "Batch mode" and filters in Pothoshop. Then we found an small utility called ClearImage, and start using it, unfoturnate we only can work in Single image process (not bacth mode) with it. So we use to mix Pothoshop and ClearImage. Around 5 or 6 months ago we found about SK and start trying to learn how to use it. We (as group) have around 500 titles produced (since Feb 2005), I, personal, scan around 50 and clean around 150 or so. My experience running SK is very limited, maybe I clean around 40 or 50 books with it, and the cleaning process was pretty simple; splitting pages, deskewing, despeckling, etc. Because the scanner are not the same than the cleaner we use to work in B/W. The scanner send us the files for cleaning purposse via email, work with Greyscale files will turn that process pretty hard to do it. Heres is a few images samples that we work in: hxxp://fly upload.flyupload.com/?fid=5518672 1 Colour images 150 dpi. 2 B/W images 300 dpi 5 RGB images 72 dpi (The scanner work like that so I'm trying to improve the images a little bite). I know that work in Greyscale 300 dpi is better than B/W, but as I said in this case the scanner and the cleaner is not the same person. So I'm trying to do the best whit the material I get. Actually the idea to learn how to use SK properly is that i will be able to "show" the scanner how to clean his own images, so i can ask them to work in Greyscale in order to get better quality resulting files. Monday2000: Thanks for your words, long time ago I learn than nothing is impossible my friend, , maybe we have not the knowledges and/or resources in order to make it possible, but exist the possiblity always. Best regards and thx for your patience and understanding. PIRASOFT |
