Products Overview
InstallFree's products enable organizations to virtualize applications and dynamically deploy them to any Windows environment based on user login credentials and with no dependencies or installed components.
InstallFree's products enable IT departments to virtualize and separately package various desktop elements such as applications, add-ons, plug-ins and updates and download or dynamically stream them as compact, clientless, virtual executables for local processing on any XP or Vista based PC regardless of the host's operating system settings and language, server-based solutions such as Citrix XenApp, Windows Terminal Server and Windows-based Virtual Machines.
Implementing InstallFree's products do not require any software, or client to be installed on the host PC or at the datacenter and enables full application functionality and complete user autonomy on any Windows-based computing environment including non-dedicated and locked-down computers with both on and off-line availability.
Using InstallFree's products, corporate IT personnel can perform mass application deployment and on-the-fly patching by easily assigning applications, add-ons and updates to Users, Groups and Organizational Units (OU) listed in the organization's Active Directory (AD). These dynamic applications function without installing anything anywhere – providing a true end-to-end software distribution solution covering the entire scope of the organization's computing scenarios. This enables IT Departments to provide end-users with their own true customizable application whether they log-in to a traditional managed desktop, a Citrix Session, or non-dedicated public PCs in airports, hotels, internet cafes, etc.
InstallFree provides three platforms for deploying InstallFree Virtual (IFV) applications across the enterprise and beyond – The IFV MiniBridge, The IFV Bridge, and the IFV Desktop.
InstallFree MiniBridge
Dynamically Deploy and Manage Executables of IFV Applications
The InstallFree MiniBridge allows IT managers to create standalone executables of InstallFree Virtual (IFV) applications and deploy them using the organization's existing Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) or Terminal Server based solutions while maintaining centralized management capabilities including updates, incremental patching and dynamic binding of add-ons, toolbars and other virtual applications. This simplifies application life cycle tasks by eliminating the need to install applications and ultimately streamlining IT operations. The MiniBridge does not integrate the IFV Application into the host PC environment yet allows it to operate with complete functionality without limitations.
The MiniBridge executables bare the icon of the application they run, but contain only the information needed to stream or download the Dynamic Desktop Elements from the central file share. Upon launch the MiniBridge executable downloads or streams the Dynamic Desktop Elements to the host and binds them in real-time into an IFV Application.
IFV MiniBridge
The InstallFree MiniBridge executable is also responsible for enforcing and managing the behavior of IFV Applications according to configurations set by the IT Manager, including:
1. Stream the application at block level based entirely on the user's actions and the application's needs in order to minimize network traffic and streamline the application's performance.
2. Download the entire IFV Application's files and their components.
3. Online use only – which will allow the user to work only when his/her PC is connected to the network by running the IFV Application's files directly from the file-share.
4. Offline mode – allowing the IFV Application's files to be locally cached under the user's application data folder to be accessed later on-demand even when a network connection is unavailable.
5. Resource access – when using specific IFV Applications, set the resources available for the user such as network drives, local drives, removable storage, printers, etc. This feature proves extremely useful for Data Loss Prevention.
InstallFree Bridge
Dynamically Deploy and Manage IFV Applications
The InstallFree Bridge is a clientless platform that deploys IFV applications to the host PC seamlessly and transparently to the end-user, based on the customer's existing infrastructure, allowing virtual applications to function as if they were installed on the host computer. By assimilating applications into the host's environment, the InstallFree Bridge provides the end-user with a natural user experience and conventional application behavior. The InstallFree Bridge does not need an agent to be installed on the host computer in order to function and does not alter the host PC in anyway. The platform includes complete integration with Active Directory (AD) or any LDAP application and the capability to deploy applications, add-one, patches as well as control the entire application life-cycle through a centralized management application.
When a user logs in to any Windows computer through AD, a simple logon script downloads a small executable (The Bridge Agent) and runs it on the host PC with no installation process at all. The Bridge Agent then streams or downloads the decoupled Dynamic Desktop Elements (applications, add-ons and updates) and dynamically binds them in the runtime execution environment together with the user's own personal settings creating an IFV Application. The IFV Application integrates with the local non-virtual desktop elements, applications and environment, thus providing the IFV Application with all the conventional points of contact such as start menu and desktop shortcuts, right-click menu options, file association and uninstall information (for use with license tracking applications).

Complete Dynamic Desktop Computing From Anywhere
The IFV Desktop is a complete, personalized virtual desktop environment that is dynamically deployed and managed with customizable IFV Applications. The IFV Desktop incorporates the entire set of resources and settings found in a traditional desktop, without being installed on the host computer, without using a Virtual Machine (VM) technology and allowing the existing infrastructure to remain unchanged.
Designed primarily for use outside of corporate boundaries, the IFV Desktop stretches the reaches of the IT departments' managed environment well beyond its physical boundaries. It is totally separated from the host PC it runs on, as it runs in a highly secured sandboxed environment that offers maximum privacy and unprecedented flexibility. The InstallFree Desktop provides the end-user with a fully-featured and customizable desktop along with its IFV Applications, add-ons, updates, use-rights, personal settings, account privileges, language, etc. The InstallFree Desktop is processed locally on the host machine, preserving the same look and feel with no dependencies on the hosts' settings, language and preferences.
In terms of architecture, The IFV Desktop combines the advantages of both thin and thick-client desktop solutions. It is stored and managed centrally but processes the applications on the client PC with optional offline availability.
The InstallFree Desktop also dramatically simplifies application and desktop lifecycle management tasks that are associated with desktop configuration, deployment and support, eliminating time consuming regression tests and resource intensive and inefficient image sprawl.
With the IFV Desktop, end-users are able to access their entire personal desktop environment from any Windows based computer in the world without having to install any software, agent or client and without compromising their security and privacy.
